Who is responsible

Mexeu is developed by Daniel Otaviano Bezerra Pontes, an independent developer operating as an individual and based in Lisbon, Portugal, who determines how personal data described in this policy is processed.

This policy covers the Mexeu iOS app and this website. Apple’s privacy rules also apply to services it provides directly, including the App Store.

Data and where it stays

Mexeu does not require an email and password account. Much of its information stays on your device. However, analytics and subscription services receive some technical data and app events. An installation identifier can be personal data even when it does not contain your name.

We do not use the camera to recognize your identity. The app does not request contacts, precise location or microphone access for the features described here.

Why we use data

We use information to deliver requested features, maintain balances and settings, verify purchases, restore access, understand failures and onboarding steps, and provide support. Movement data is not used for advertising.

The legal basis depends on the purpose and applicable law. The proposed approach for this version is:

• Providing the contracted service: settings, progress and information strictly necessary for purchases and paid access.
• Legal obligations: records that must be retained under tax, consumer or other applicable requirements.
• Legitimate interests, where appropriate: security, fraud prevention and support, after considering users’ rights and expectations.
• Consent, where required: non-essential analytics and device storage or access technologies subject to that requirement.

Before publication: validate legal bases by purpose and consent requirements for the SDKs. The current version initializes Mixpanel without a specific analytics choice.

iOS camera permission provides technical access to the camera; it does not replace any additional consent required by law. Reading this policy or accepting the Terms of Use does not itself provide consent to optional analytics.

Services and sharing

We share information needed for the services we use:

• Mixpanel: analysis of the events described above. The app configures Mixpanel’s European endpoint. This does not guarantee that all access, support or processing takes place only in Europe. Mixpanel privacy.
• Superwall: offers and subscription information. The SDK’s optional external data collection is disabled in the app’s code; this does not disable data needed to operate the service. Superwall privacy.
• Apple: payment, App Store and iOS features. Apple processes information for its own services under its own rules. Apple privacy.
• Google (Gmail): receiving, storing and replying to messages sent to info@mexeu.com. The service may process the sender’s address, message content, attachments and technical delivery information. Google privacy.
• GitHub: hosting this website on GitHub Pages. The service may process IP addresses and access logs to operate and protect hosting. GitHub privacy.

Information may also be disclosed to meet legal obligations, respond to valid requests from authorities or protect rights and safety. Any transfer of the app to another operator must preserve data protection obligations and be communicated where required.

Before publication: confirm provider processing agreements and subprocessors, including Google/Gmail, and whether partners sell, share for advertising or independently use data. The reviewed configuration has no advertising integration, but does not replace this contractual assessment.

International transfers

Some providers operate internationally, so technical data, subscription information and support messages may be processed outside your country.

Where required, these transfers need a valid mechanism, such as an adequacy decision, approved contractual clauses or another safeguard applicable to the specific transfer. Requirements may differ under the GDPR, UK law and Brazil’s LGPD.

Before publication: identify destinations and mechanisms actually agreed with Mixpanel, Superwall and Google/Gmail. This draft does not claim that clauses, adequacy or certifications have been verified.

Retention and deletion

Preferences and progress remain on the device while the relevant storage exists. iOS, backups and restores can affect retention. Removing the app does not cancel a subscription or automatically delete information already received by providers.

Camera frames are processed during the session without video recording in the normal flow. Optional diagnostics hold a window of up to five minutes in memory; the temporary export file is removed when the share sheet closes. A copy you send is then subject to the destination you choose.

Before publication: define and configure retention periods for Mixpanel events, Superwall data, support messages in Gmail and backups. Remote retention cannot be confirmed from the app’s code alone.

Deletion requests cover data under our control and relevant requests to processors. Some records may need to be retained for legal obligations or legal claims, with restricted access and only as long as necessary.

Permissions and choices

You can revoke camera, alarm and Screen Time permissions in iOS Settings. Features that depend on those permissions may stop working. The app currently has no dedicated control to turn off Mixpanel.

To request access, correction or deletion of data sent to services, or exercise another applicable right, email info@mexeu.com. You do not need a login account. We may need limited information to locate your installation or verify your request; do not send passwords, full card numbers or unnecessary identity documents.

We cannot promise to locate pseudonymous data without sufficient information. We will explain limitations, legally permitted refusals and ways to challenge them. Deleting data or the app does not cancel a subscription: cancellation is managed through the App Store.

Rights by region

Brazil

Under the LGPD and its conditions, you may request confirmation, access, correction, anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary or unlawfully processed data, portability, information about sharing and consent, withdrawal of consent, and review of automated decisions where applicable. Requests follow statutory formats and deadlines, including LGPD confirmation and access deadlines. You may also contact the ANPD or consumer protection authorities.

European Economic Area and United Kingdom

Where applicable, you may access, correct, erase, restrict or port your data, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Requests are normally answered within one month; we will explain any legally permitted extension. You may complain to your local data protection authority, including Portugal’s CNPD or the UK’s ICO.

United States

Depending on your state and whether its laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port information, learn about data categories and recipients, opt out of sale, sharing for targeted advertising and certain profiling, and appeal a refusal. Additional California rights, including sensitive information and authorized agents, will be honored where applicable. We will not unlawfully discriminate for exercising rights. Requests and appeals may be sent to info@mexeu.com.

Before publication: complete the state-law applicability assessment, required previous-12-month disclosures and opt-out signal handling, including Global Privacy Control, if covered activities occur. This website has no targeted advertising mechanism.

Other countries

Use the same channel to exercise rights under applicable law, including access, correction and deletion. This policy does not limit mandatory protections in your country of residence.

Minimum age

Mexeu is intended for people aged 16 or older. It is not offered as a children’s service or directed to anyone under 16. If you are not legally able to purchase a subscription yourself, your parent or guardian must authorize it as required by law and App Store rules.

If you believe we received data about someone below the minimum age, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where relevant. Allowing people under 16 would require reviewing the product, SDKs and consent rules before offering the service to that audience.

Cookies and this website

These pages are static: we add no cookies, advertising pixels, analytics, forms or browser storage. Fonts and the logo load from this website. Language changes use a link without storing a preference.

GitHub Pages hosting may generate technical logs, as described under services. External websites you choose to visit have their own practices.

This website does not change its behavior in response to “Do Not Track”, because it does not implement tracking of browsing across websites. This statement does not describe or replace the assessment of the app’s SDKs.

Security and automated features

We aim to limit information to what is needed and use iOS protections and protected network connections. No device or service can guarantee absolute security.

Repetition counting and the release of minutes follow local automated rules to deliver the requested feature. We do not use pose information to identify you or decide credit, employment or eligibility for essential services. You may contact support about an incorrect result.

Policy changes

This policy is intended to take effect for the app when Mexeu becomes available on the App Store. The final version must be completed before launch, with the corresponding date recorded at the top. Information about this website and email contact describes services already used before launch. Material changes should be communicated appropriately, including in the app where needed. A new data use that requires consent needs a valid choice, not merely an update to this text.
